Today at the Digital Innovation in Mental Health conference, Chris Eldridge, Director of Operations at Mayden, shared some early insights and trends in data around the impact of Covid-19 on mental health referral and treatment for adults in England’s IAPT programme.
With millions of patient contacts at which outcome measurements have been recorded, IAPT services hold an enviable position – not just in the NHS but on the global stage. This enables transparency and is particularly valuable at a time like this.
We have worked with IAPT since its inception in 2008 and our customers include NHS Trusts, voluntary sector and private sector providers. Our main product, iaptus, is the patient care software used by around two thirds of IAPT services across England. The software provides a fully digitised referral-to-discharge care pathway, which enables services to work remotely during the pandemic and beyond. Using iaptus, services are able to quickly and efficiently collect data to support treatment – with one goal being to contribute data to the national IAPT dataset mandated by NHS England.
Mayden is the custodian of the data collected by services as it sits within our secure data centres before being submitted to the NHS national IAPT dataset. The data is then published by NHS Digital several months in arrears. As a result, we are in the unique position of being able to share an early view and some top level trends prior to the IAPT dataset being published.
We’re really pleased to be able to contribute these insights and to support the good work that NHS England and the IAPT national team are doing to ensure that services are prepared for future demand.
