Our core values and what they mean to us

At Mayden we have a flat structure – meaning that in a company of 70, we have four directors but no other levels of management. We each have autonomy as well as responsibility for the decisions we make and the work we do.

About two years ago, we identified and established our core values. Today, they guide the decisions we make as individuals, as teams and as a company – from the way we’re structured, to how we choose projects, to the people we hire, to the way we run our meetings. Not a day goes by when our values don’t help us answer questions, function better and work more collaboratively.

In the coming months, we’ll be sharing a series of blogs on the internal work we’ve been doing over the past several years to make Mayden the kind of company we all want to work for. For now, read on to find out more about our values and what they mean to us.

We believe in learning as a lifestyle. We question our assumptions, positively challenge our own ways of working, and keenly experiment with new technology and processes. We are constantly experimenting, evaluating and improving the work that we do and the way we do it.

We’re open about our business practices, the challenges we face, and the things we learn. We’re accountable to each other and work in self managing teams to meet shared objectives. We track and measure in order to learn from our experiences.

We believe that each of us has a responsibility to share what we learn, in order to build and sustain meaningful, positive change.

We believe that the best solutions come when we work as a team, pooling knowledge and sharing expertise. We do our best work together – internally with our colleagues, and externally, with other organisations. We consider ourselves a partner rather than a supplier, and work alongside our customers to understand their challenges, then imagine and deliver solutions.
