Aimée started at Mayden in 2017, after graduating from the second wave of Mayden Academy. She is excited to join the iaptus team and feels very fortunate to be able to continue learning and working on her development skills. In her spare time, Aimée enjoys playing music and painting.
Marketing and Communications
Ali joined Mayden initially as a contractor and decided to join us as an employee after four months. Her background is in PA work across a range of sectors including universities, professional body development and a brand consultancy. Ali is also a qualified playgroup leader! Ali's role within Mayden is in the Marketing and Communications team including social media. In her spare time, she can be found playing her double bass with the BJ Big Band.
Alison joined Mayden in 2011. Having started her working life as a graduate General Management Trainee in the NHS, she went on to hold a number of operational and strategic management positions in acute and community sectors before moving into management consultancy with one of the UK’s leading specialist healthcare consultancy firms. Alison therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the NHS and clinical processes, as well as considerable service management and governance experience.
Andy initially joined Mayden in 2010 for a year-long industrial placement. After graduating from university in June 2012 with a degree in web applications development, he rejoined Mayden as a software developer. Andy continues to apply his skills and knowledge on iaptus. His main roles include customer support, development and testing.
Andy joined Mayden in July 2017 after graduating from the University of Bath with a first class honours degree in Computer Science. This is Andy’s second term at Mayden, having previously completed a year in industry with the company in 2016. During his spare time, Andy greatly enjoys contributing to open source projects, music, flight simulation and gaming.
Annie joined Mayden in the beginning of 2015 as part of the iaptus team. She graduated from Aberystwyth University with a Business IT degree and has since worked as a PHP developer.
Becky developed a passion for language at an early age, and went on to study for a BA in English language and linguistics where she graduated top of her class. She then embarked on a career in marketing, enabling her to make the most of her skills. She joined one of the UK’s leading clinical system suppliers as a Marketing Assistant and was quickly promoted to Marketing Manager where she was responsible for all of the marketing activities for the company, ranging from events management, press and PR, copywriting and branding. It was there that she combined her love for language with a new-found passion for Health Informatics. Becky joined Mayden in 2011 and is responsible for managing Mayden’s Marketing and PR activities.
Ben is a recent graduate who joined Mayden in late 2016. He holds an MEng in Structural, Civil and Environmental Engineering. However, a growing interest in software throughout his technical degree, as well as a desire to use software for an ethical purpose attracted him to Mayden for an early career change.
Professor Bernard Crump studied medicine at Birmingham University, qualifying in 1980. After seven years in clinical practice and research, he returned to the West Midlands to undertake postgraduate training in Public Health Medicine. He spent ten years as Director of Public Health, first in South Birmingham and then in Leicestershire where he was also Deputy Chief Executive. In 2002 he became CEO of Shropshire & Staffordshire Strategic Health Authority, a post that he occupied until being appointed the first CEO of the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement in July 2005. He is a visiting professor at the University of Leicester and Honorary professor at the University of Warwick.
Bernard sees innovation and technology as key to supporting the challenging agenda faced by the NHS and his experience and expertise will be invaluable in ensuring that Mayden can respond to these challenges effectively.
Trainer and Software Developer
Joining as part of the first wave of Mayden Academy trainee software developers, Charlie has spent two years working as a software developer in the Orbit team and has now returned to the academy as a trainer. He enjoys working on creative front end projects in his spare time. Previously Charlie was the owner of Charlie’s Bar in Clifton, Bristol and before that he spent some time in London and a few years in Leeds working in advertising as an account executive.
Director of Operations
Chris has been working for Mayden since 2009 as the Project Manager for iaptus. It’s a role he greatly enjoys, as it requires constant dialogue with the customers in order to understand their needs and prioritise development in iaptus. Prior to joining Mayden, Chris worked for six years with the Manufacturing Advisory Service, an organisation set up by the Department of Trade Industry to help UK manufacturers increase productivity and competitiveness. He originally studied mechanical engineering and went on to Cambridge University for some postgraduate studies.
The founder and managing director of Mayden. Formerly from a manufacturing background he has dedicated his career to the healthcare sector for the last 21 years, initially as a hospital manager and then as a management consultant specialising in information analysis and modelling to support strategic reviews and business cases.
Chris is passionate about maximising the opportunities presented by the internet both to provide joined up healthcare and to increase the cost-effectiveness of healthcare IT. This is now his primary area of interest.
Customer Relations Manager
Claire joined Mayden in 2009, initially working on Healthcare Today and CQuINS before becoming the Customer Relations Manager for iaptus. Claire helps customers get the best out of iaptus, particularly the reporting tools and Care Pathway design. She also organises and runs iaptus training sessions for clinicians, admin staff and managers. She has a special interest in data comparison.
Coralie joined Mayden in 2014. She has a first class bachelor's degree in cybernetics and control engineering and a master's degree in biomedical engineering. She has ten years' experience in IT and software development and is now working with Mayden as part of the support team, primarily focusing on data transfers and minor updates.
Damien graduated from the University of Bath in 2007 with a mathematics Ph.D. After a short period as a university lecturer he decided to change his career path to reflect his increasing passion for computing. He held several IT support and website development positions before joining Mayden in 2013. Damien is always interested in learning and has a desire to pursue excellence in all he does. Mayden provides the perfect opportunity for him to extend his professional experience by working as part of a team of developers.
Dave joined Mayden in 2010, is now in his seventh year as a professional software developer, and is a lead developer on the iaptus project. He is a budding software architect and has designed several iaptus projects and integrations with external systems. Dave also shares the responsibility of release management over all patient management projects. He has recently spent time re-vamping and implementing new development and release processes, and development standards to scale with our ever growing development team.
With considerable experience in both the business and charitable service sectors, Dave joined Mayden as Office Administrator in 2017. His industry experience has allowed him to appreciate excellent customer service. Being a team member at Mayden, where outstanding service is the norm, is therefore very important to him. Communicating both face to face and over the phone with customers, service providers and product users is the best part of his day. He is delighted to be a part of a company where each person, whatever their association with the company, is equally valued.
Customer Support Manager/Feature Owner for Strategic Development
Dawn graduated in 2010 with a BSc psychology degree and has since worked in customer support roles within the public and charity sector. Dawn joined Mayden in 2012 as a member of the Customer Support Team and now monitors the quality of customer support, the implementation of new services and strategic planning to support existing customers.
Erica joined Mayden in 2009 following a career change from the legal profession to web applications programming. She started off working on a number of different projects, but rapidly became focused on the iaptus application and is now one of the longest serving members of the iaptus development team. She works primarily on server-side programming and has a particular interest in the design and development procedures aspects of the software development cycle.
Creative Digital Content Manager
Originally from Ireland, Eve moved to Bath in 2010. She joined Mayden's Marketing team in the summer of 2016. Eve has a BA Honours degree in Digital Media Arts and has since worked as a web designer and WordPress Administrator. She is passionate about all things digital and keeping up to date with the latest developments in that field.
Implementation Manager/Feature Owner
Fiona joined Mayden in 2015 and supports iaptus as a member of the Product and Feature Owner team. With a particular responsibility for optional features, Fiona is passionate about software innovations that are patient-centred and support healthcare services and staff to enhance the patient experience. Having previously worked in the Higher Education and Community Sport sectors, she has developed experience in customer service, project coordination and strategic planning and has a keen interest in agile development practices. Fiona has a first class BSc Honours degree in Applied Computing from the University of Bath and is a rugby enthusiast in her spare time.
Frank joined Mayden in spring 2016. During his time at university he designed, developed and supported bespoke web applications as a way of gaining real world, commercial experience in addition to his studies. He graduated in April 2014 with a BSc in Forensic Computing and then subsequently worked as a systems analyst in the digital learning sector. He has a keen interest in systems and security and is looking forward to working with the rest of the Mayden team. He enjoys riding his motorbike with his girlfriend and looking after their cat.
After many years of working at creative agencies for clients in the tourism, charity, retail and financial services sectors, Geraldine now enjoys a varied role as Mayden's creative designer. Working closely with the user interface designers, she is creating the look and feel for the next stage of Mayden's web applications. With a strong background in conceptual design, Geraldine also has creative input into all of the company's marketing activity and brand development.
Social Media Marketer
Hannah graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2009, with a degree in Fashion Marketing and Communication. She joined Mayden in April 2017 as our Social Media Marketer and also brings a background in event and brand management. Hannah loves the creativity of social media and the power it can have to do some good in the world - you can always find her behind the camera, catching those Mayden moments.
Data Services Team
Born and raised in Liverpool, Heath graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Technology Management. He moved to the South West in 2005 and has spent the last 10 years in the secondary education sector as Head of IT & Computing, teaching 11-18 year olds the principles of computation and programming. Heath joined Mayden’s Data Services team in the summer of 2016.
Marketing and Business Development
Helen joined Mayden in 2015. She previously worked in higher education and in international development, where she coordinated investment in community projects across Asia and Africa for health, education, economic and social development. Helen is passionate about the positive role that business can play in society. She's motivated by the contribution that Mayden's systems make to the NHS, improving the patient experience and outcomes at both strategic and operational levels.
Placement Year Student
Hollie joined Mayden in July 2017 for a year-long industrial placement as part of a 4-year degree in Computer Science at the University of Bath. During the year, she hopes to gain real-world experience in software engineering and agile development, along with improving her technical skills. Outside of work, Hollie enjoys cooking and baking - especially the end results!
Ian enjoys interacting with users, seeking understanding and resolving people's issues. He joined the iaptus support team in 2015 and prior to this spent time supporting IT in the education sector following a career change away from design roles in manufacturing. He previously graduated with an MSc in Human Factors and is keen on exploring new ideas and innovation that serves the needs of people.
Isabel joined the Customer Support Team at Mayden in May 2017. She was looking for a new challenge to get stuck into and is excited to be joining the team. Her previous roles have been focused around retail, hospitality and customer service. She is looking forward to learning and developing new skills. In her spare time Isabel enjoys learning about Astronomy and Typography.
Jane joined Mayden in 2014. Previously she had worked ten years in adult education - managing an IT Learning Centre and delivering training. Prior to this she worked for various international companies, involved in system development, IT support and in-house training. More recently she explored the world of accountancy before joining the Customer Support team at Mayden to focus on a more customer interactive role. Jane was keen to return to the supportive environment where she could be involved once more in providing high quality support to customers, delivering training and assisting in the development of the company products and services.
Customer Support Manager and Feature Owner
After graduating with a degree in English, Jenna worked in the customer care sector for seven years. She then began working in administrative, training and data roles for an IAPT service, where she became the service expert in iaptus. In 2012, Jenna joined Mayden and began working as a customer account manager. In 2016, Jenna became a customer support manager and feature owner, and is now responsible for managing and reviewing customer requests to inform iaptus development alongside working in close communication with customers. Jenna has a keen interest in data and its application for the improvement of mental health services.
Jenny joined Mayden in 2012 after nearly four years working as a data lead for an Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) service, where she became an expert user of iaptus - Mayden's psychotherapy patient management system. Jenny joined Mayden's Customer Support team before moving into her current role in Development Support, where she has completed many data migrations for our iaptus clients. Jenny has recently completed an Open University degree in Computing and IT, with a view to moving into web development in the future.
iaptus Feature Owner
It was during her MEng Mechanical Engineering degree that Jenny realised she was passionate about working with healthcare to help improve people’s quality of life. After graduating with a first class honours degree and spending a year and a half designing and developing orthopaedic medical devices, Jenny joined Mayden in 2017.
Joe joined Mayden in 2014, shortly after graduating from the University of Portsmouth with a bachelor’s degree in Computing. He has a passion for learning about new technologies and their real world applications. Joe is currently working as a member of the iaptus team.
Johnny joined Mayden in early 2014 with over 20 years' IT experience, the last half of which has been within the healthcare sector. He is a Certified Ethical Hacker with a HNC in software engineering and many years' experience as a SQL / PHP developer. Johnny has a passion for cyber security and learning new technologies.
Juliette has 20 years' experience in health analytics. She has worked for NHS Trusts, a leading health management consultancy and as a freelance analyst. Juliette joined Mayden in 2013 to enhance the expanding analytics team and is our in-house Tableau Specialist. She enjoys developing systems to provide great interactive visual presentations of customer data. Juliette's particular interest is in linking data from diverse sources to provide new insights.
Kayleigh joined Mayden in May 2016 after previously working in the education sector, both in a mainstream school and, more recently, supporting and delivering lessons in an adolescent mental health unit. In 2012, she graduated with a BA Honours degree in Linguistics and has a real interest in language and helping others. Kayleigh also has customer service experience and hopes to build on these skills, as well as developing other skills, whilst working at Mayden.
Liam completed an industrial placement year at Mayden in 2015, then rejoined in August 2017 after graduating from the University of Bath with a first class honours degree in Computer Science. He works on the iaptus team and always wants to look for ways to create, develop and make improvements to great projects like iaptus.
Lindsey joined Mayden in 2015 after previously working as a teacher for 5 years within the primary education sector. Along with her Bath Spa University PGCE, Lindsey also has a BSc in Psychology from the University of Gloucestershire. She is now part of the Customer Support team at Mayden, where she hopes to use her teaching skills to deliver excellent training and customer service for clients.
Louis joined Mayden in 2011. Having studied a computing degree at university, he continues to apply and develop his skills as a web developer. Louis offers a varied skill set with a strong combination of design and technical expertise, as well as sound knowledge in specialist applications.
Marta joined Mayden initially in September 2015 following a career change from a wholesale buyer to a Trainee Software Developer at Mayden Academy. After graduating she joined the iaptus team. She is also currently studying part-time at the Open University towards a degree in Computing & IT and Statistics. She hopes to develop further her knowledge and skills as a software developer.
Content and Finance Manager
Martine joined Mayden in 2004. She has 20 years’ experience in admin and accounts. Having studied for a Secretarial Certificate at college, she went on to work for a major tyre manufacturer as an Office Junior, moving into the legal department and supporting the solicitors and company secretary. She then worked as an Office Manager and Purchase Ledger Clerk for a plumbing company. She is now Mayden's Finance Manager and is also responsible for the company accounts and keeping our healthcare website, www.healthcare-today.co.uk, up-to-date with the latest news from several different sources.
Matt joined Mayden in 2009 after graduating with a computer science degree. Previously, he managed large data management systems for a magazine publisher and developed data collection and analysis systems for government-funded surveys. He originally worked on www.healthcare-today.co.uk and the Mayden CMS system but moved onto iaptus - adding technically complex features, such as SMS appointment reminders and advanced practice management software for GPs. He has a particular interest in finding innovative solutions to technical problems and bringing these techniques and experience to both iaptus and Mayden.
Matt joined Mayden in 2016 as part of the network team. He previously worked as a contractor for Mayden, supporting the data centre operations. He enjoys spending time with his family and tinkering with computers.
Matt joined Mayden at the beginning of 2015 as part of the iaptus team. He began studying Pharmacy in university, but, decided to follow his passion for technology and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with Security and Forensics in 2014. Having previously worked as a software developer in the financial sector - he joins Mayden wanting to further develop his skills and help make a difference within UK Healthcare.
Marketing and Communications
Michele joined Mayden in April 2014. Michele started out in marketing and business development in the international aid sector, followed by a career in the the NHS working on large change management initiatives and building and leading the marketing and communications team for a community services provider. Michele was really attracted by Mayden's company values and mission - to provide software solutions that change the way services are delivered, and experienced by patients. Consequently she thoroughly enjoys bringing marketing expertise to a range of creative projects that genuinely help to improve health outcomes for patients.
Lead Trainer & Software Developer
Mike joined Mayden in mid-2014 following after working as a front end development consultant in Bristol. Mike is a self-taught developer who enjoys passing on his experiences by teaching others and mentoring junior developers. Mike splits his time between teaching for Mayden Academy and working with the iaptus team.
Natasha joined Mayden in March 2014. She gained a BA degree in Primary Education in 2009 and after deciding on a career change has recently gained further diplomas in Professional Executive PA. She is an Executive Assistant supporting a number of staff.
Oliver has over 15 years’ experience in IT, from small business to blue chip companies. He enjoys delivering change and real benefit to the health service, as part of the team at Mayden. He is currently working as the Project Manager for MyAction and the CQuINS teams.
Oliver joined Mayden in 2013. Previously he worked as the sole developer for an internet marketing company for seven years, growing his skill set during his time there, while both the company and the sector grew rapidly. Out of working hours he does a lot for charities around where he was brought up, running technical support and training courses.
Patrick joined Mayden in May 2017, following 10 years in the stage & event lighting industry, where he worked in all areas of the business. He is now enjoying being a part of the team at Mayden whilst developing new and existing skills and knowledge to embrace the challenge of this role. Outside of the office, Patrick can be found providing technical support to local amateur dramatics groups, playing squash, cooking and enjoying the sea air around the coast.
Paula joined Mayden in 2012 as the Assurance Lead focusing on information security management systems. Paula has over 20 years’ experience working within the quality management industry which has included data management, software testing and the successful implementation of ISO9001:2008 over multi-site locations.
Executive Programme Manager
Inspired by its unique approach, Philippa joined Mayden as Executive Programme Manager in November 2016. A PhD graduate from the School of Management at the University of Bath, her experience to date includes project management, enterprise support, and running a thriving business hub for businesses in the creative, digital and tech industries. With an unswerving passion for customer service, a special interest in organisational behaviour and a desire to make a difference, Philippa’s role is to work across Mayden on projects and activities that drive the business forward and help it achieve its aims.
Finance & Administration
Rachel has been with Mayden since 2010. Prior to Mayden, Rachel worked for Surrey County Council for seven years where she had a junior admin role working her way up to Admin Manager and Finance Officer. She then moved to Spain where she lived and worked for three years. On her return, she moved to Wiltshire where she started as Mayden's receptionist whilst also providing administrative support across a number of Mayden's customer products. Rachel has now taken the lead in customer invoicing.
Rob joined Mayden in summer 2013. He has a bachelor's degree in computing and has extensive experience of building web sites, having previously worked in ISP hosting, e-commerce and gambling sectors. His work on time-critical systems has developed his keen eye for optimisation, security and stability.
Rob has worked in Mayden’s development team since 2012, initially as a contractor and now as lead developer and ScrumMaster for the iaptus development team. He has designed and developed many of the external interfaces between iaptus and other online health care systems. As a keen advocate of agile methodologies, he was instrumental in the introduction of the Scrum agile approach at Mayden. Rob has 20 years’ experience in the IT industry and has spent the last 10 years working with web technologies.
Systems Support Engineer
Rob joined the Mayden team May 2015. Rob originates from South Africa, he moved to the UK in 2001 with his parents. Rob has previously worked in the healthcare sector where he worked on his customer services skills, he then followed his passion and moved into the IT sector. Rob now has over 10 years experience supporting various IT systems.
In his spare time he likes to play golf, cycle, run, keep fit and ride motorbikes.
WordPress Web Developer
Ross joined Mayden in 2017 with over two years' commercial experience in PHP web/software development following 5 years consulting for the Ministry Of Defence in enterprise architecture modelling. Ross undertook a BSc (Honours) degree in Computing and IT through the Open University and graduated in 2015. Ross is well versed in many programming languages and web technologies. He joined Mayden to follow his passion for WordPress front and back end development, with a desire to further develop his skills.
Suzanne joined Mayden in 2013. With a background in education - managing an IT Learning Centre and delivering training. She has also worked in Local Government, the MOD and more recently as a Project Coordinator. She will be focusing on company administration as well as recruitment and health and safety - amongst other responsibilities.
Originally from South Africa, Taryn joined Mayden in late spring 2016. She has worked in a variety of administrative roles and gains great satisfaction from things running well. Passionate about teams working together she enjoys cross team working, coordinating a variety of roles to achieve the best outcomes.
Data Services Team
Tess first joined Mayden's Customer Support team in 2014 before moving into her current role in Data Services. In this role she mainly works on data migrations and analytics for our iaptus clients, and has a good knowledge of national reporting requirements. She graduated in 2011 with a MEng Mechanical Engineering degree from Bath University and has a particular interest in biomedical engineering.
Tomas is responsible for Mayden’s Customer Relationship Management system and its support software. He has considerable creative flair, and is currently working on user interfaces, graphics and design.
