Mayden wins SBRI funding for the third time

SBRI Funding

SBRI Healthcare is an NHS England funded initiative championed by the AHSN Network. This particular call was looking for projects that tackle the challenges of mental illness.

This is the third round of funding that Mayden has been awarded by the SBRI Healthcare. The first two were awarded for the development of Prism – a secure online referral hub that securely connects IAPT services with a range of digital therapy platforms. Prism is now being used by over 50% of our clients delivering NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) services, and in the last two years has automated the secure transfer of 100,000+ treatment sessions between systems.

This year, SBRI Healthcare is funding our project to develop a feature that – utilising machine learning techniques – will help support services in reducing waiting times and improve outcomes for patients.

By comparing the profile of a new patient entering a service with the wealth of historical patient data available, we will employ machine learning techniques to recommend appropriate treatments – including direct and instant access to digital therapies – with a view to significantly improving both waiting times and outcomes for patients, and lowering costs. This will be achieved by standardising and automating the assessment process at the point of referral and using the data collected nationally to signpost available treatment options that typically result in positive outcomes for patients with similar profiles.

We are very grateful to the team at SBRI Healthcare for their support in developing something that we believe will have a huge impact on the delivery of mental health services, and ultimately care for patients.
