Quality Assurance is a fundamental part of the NHS Cancer Screening Programmes.
The aim of quality assurance in the NHS is to maintain minimum standards and to improve the performance of all aspects of cancer screening in order to ensure that the population have access to a high quality screening service wherever they live.
The London Quality Assurance Reference Centre performs this role using a pioneering community-based process management system called QuACS (Quality Assurance in Cancer Screening).
QuACS brings together all the health professionals across the capital into a single on-line professional network where the annual quality assurance processes are streamlined and managed in a systematic way, repeatable year after year.
